Aardvark Adaptive Modifications is a full service Accessible Design, Consulting and Contracting Firm located in Pittsburgh which provides products and services related to creating barrier free environments. We are owned and managed by people with disabilities and we bring this first person perspective to every product and service.  We are "the accessible door experts".

Aardvark Adaptive Modifications prides itself on our commitment to our client's. We provide full service solutions, on a single source basis. We install wheelchair ramps, automatic door openers and remodel bathrooms to make your life easier.

Aardvark can make commercial properties compliant with the American with Disabilities Act, as well as local codes and standards. At Aardvark Adaptive Modifications we take pride in our work, and enjoy helping people in wheelchairs to overcome the barriers that we have experienced.
 

Who We Are and What We Do

Roy Miller, the owner of Aardvark, previously owned a 3rd generation contracting company that had been doing business in the Pittsburgh area for over 100 years. After suffering a severe disability, Roy became frustrated trying to find a person to come and install specific hardware in his house only to find that what was installed wasn't actually functional or convenient to his needs. He decided that there had to be an easier way. Roy met Jim Costello, who also suffered a severe disability a few years earlier. Jim was doing design work for people with disabilities at the time. Together Jim and Roy decided to form Aardvark Adaptive Modifications to help our clients achieve a barrier free, and independent lifestyle.

• Personal experience with mobility impairment, Roy is a double below the knee amputee
